Recent WALKS - in pictures July 2012

If you like the Countryside you might enjoy browsing these pictures of my recent perambulations in various parts of the North of England.  Movies may take a minute to load.

Walk 16 on 8th July 2012 - BOW FELL.  It was a lovely day, fine and warm, perfect for a 9 mile walk to the summit of Bow Fell. The magnificent panoramas and vistas were soon opening up before me, however, there was a little low cloud around the peaks, in the distance. This part of the lakes - the Southern Fells - is so very beautiful; I could walk around here almost every weekend and do a new walk each time. I reached the summit but by then the cloud had closed in further and when I reached the very top it was a complete whiteout, hence I was unable to get a good image or movie of the summit! Not to worry, as I will visit here again, many times god willing, and can always take more pics. The views are totally spectacular, thrilling and you must visit here!.

Walk 17 on 22-07-2012, Farleton Fell. Another Manchester Evening News walk, of which I have done many, over the years. They are usually great little interesting walks in various locations in the North of England. This locale is well known for its Limestone Pavement areas. The day was overcast but not dull, and warm, and the walk was largely on the flat, with relatively minor undulations in the level, easy to walk, certainly not demanding at all. The scenery is wild and beautiful, with glorious views in all directions.
